About this work
Before Elvis, nobody moved like that. After Elvis, everybody tried.
Blue Suede Shoes is built from 15 original Elvis Presley pressings — including two live vinyl albums recorded in Nashville and Elvis Worldwide Gold Hits on mono vinyl. The piece captures the classic Elvis posture: the leap, the confidence, the sheer physical fact of him. Every record was chosen for what it carries. Two of them were pressed with him in the room.
He made it look effortless. The records know better.
