Every rodeo has a queen. This one did not wait around to be crowned.

Rodeo Regent is about poise, swagger, and the kind of authority that never has to raise its voice. The flat-brimmed hat tipped over her eyes, the knotted bandana, the open jacket, and one hand planted on her hip give her a personality that feels cool, theatrical, and entirely used to getting her way.

Created from real vintage vinyl records, the black grooves shape the figure while the original labels add flashes of color and music history throughout the composition, with names like Helen Reddy, the Bangles, and Bessie Smith hiding in plain sight across her jacket. From across the room, the full-length figure feels bold and graphic. Up close, the individual records begin to reveal themselves.

It is a little western, a little runway, and crowned entirely on her own say-so.
